Já a próxima, Neohate, o Death/Thrash Metal veloz toma conta seguido de Free Mumia (A Panther In The Cage). O cd físico encerra com dois bons covers: Wheels Of Fire (Manowar) e Dominios Of Death (Vulcano).

Link: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1060508087771372&set=a.511454169343436

Link: https://www.headbangersnews.com.br/resenhas/subversive-need/

Ouça Subversive Need nos links abaixo:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0giXP7sUDUnw2S0xux6gYB

Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/al/album/134058262

iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/pandemmy/1246514297

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys4zewkLZZE

Pandemmy Official Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12476493020186891848noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6735975629095482182.post-14923591658248096192021-02-17T11:45:00.001-08:002021-02-23T10:52:05.579-08:00Interview for Crossfire Metal Webzine
01) Hello Pedro! How are you? Please tell us about the foundation of Pandemmy first! When and how did it all happen?

Pedro Valença – Hi, Daniel! I’m good. Pandemmy was founded in January 10th 2009 after I have left my first band, Monstera. In Monstera I played just thrash metal but I wanted play Death Metal too and Pandemmy is the union between Thrash and Death.

02) Have you played in other bands before?

Pedro Valença – At that time, Monstera (Thrash Metal) was the only band that I played.

03) What´s the idea behind the different pronunciation of Pandemmy?

Pedro Valença – About the pronunciation it’s mean nothing. The name Pandemmy is associated the idea of a sound Pandemic, a kind of sound spreading through the Earth. It’s a little abstract, but it’s a simple name, still sounds good to us today.

04) Which bands are your main influences?

Pedro Valença – Carcass, Kreator, Sepultura, Andralls and Death.

05) What are your lyrics about: the typical clichés, or is there a certain message behind them?

Pedro Valença – I prefer write about problems of society because here in Brazil we are victims of an unfair system. We have abstract and personal lyrics too, but in less quantity.

06) There always were brutal Death-, Thrash- and Black Metal bands in Brazil. What do you think are the reasons for that? Where do this anger and aggression come from?

Pedro Valença – Brazil is a big country with a lot of cultural differences, however common problems are everywhere: poverty, misery, corruption, urban violence, criminal elites... I think this anger has reflected on Brazilian Metal style.

07) Let´s dig a little bit in the history of the band, okay? In 2011, you won the regional W:O:A: Metal Battle. Where did you get the contact for that? And did you play at Wacken Open Air as well for that?

Pedro Valença – The W:O:A Metal Battle happened few times years ago in Brazil. We won the local battle in our state (Pernambuco). The national battle (final dispute) was in a traditional Brazilian festival called Roça N’ Roll. In 2011 we disputed with 20 bands or more, but we lose. The experience of travel to another state (Minas Gerais, land of Sepultura!) and playing with those bands and national press was very intense and unbelievable for us. A great chapter in our history, of course.

08) How many bands took part in this battle at all by the way?

Pedro Valença –20 bands, I guess. I remember some great ones, as such as Nekrost (the winner of 2011 Brazilian W:O:A Metal Battle), Madness Factory, Kamala, Fire Shadow.

09) Also in 2011, you contributed on the Sepultura tribute sampler “Ratamahatta – De Pernambuco Para O Mundo: Um Tributo Ao Sepultura”. That´s not really surprising actually. What was surprising though was that you chose “Convicted In Life” from Sepultura´s 2006 album “Dante XII” featuring Derrick Green on vocals. That´s not old school at all, haha! What were the reasons for that? And do you like their later albums as well, or was it just a kind of experiment?

Pedro Valença – So, I think we were invited for this tribute in the last few moments. Originally, we wanted record a track from Max Cavalera’s years. Many songs have been recorded by other bands were on the tribute. We are inspired mainly by the old Sepultura, but we appreciate the longevity of them. We like the song Convicted In Life because this track have the Sepultura’s aggressiveness trademark. I like the albums ‘The Mediator…’, ‘Quadra’ and a lot of songs from Derick Green’s era.

10) In 2019, you released a split-CD with the Italian Death/Thrash Metal band Abscendent. How did you get in contact with them? And how did this collaboration work?

Pedro Valença – I found the band through the Google. After, I talked with Luca Riccardelli (bassist and vocalist) and Gabriele Vellucci (guitarist) on Facebook. They are very kind guys. We agreed on deadlines and talked about the title of Split Album and stuff. ‘Obliteration’ was released in May 31st 2019 – check it out!

11) Your new, third album “Subversive Need” was released by the Dutch label Heabangers Records and the Dutch record shop Big Bad Wolf Records. The Netherlands are very far away from Brazil, haha! So, how did this happen?

Pedro Valença – Throughout the last year, we sent lots of e-mails from to many labels. And, finally, Tamme from Big Bad Wolf Records answered me. We made a deal and we are very happy with this partnership. Marco (Headbangers Records) is a great guy too.

12) How much time did it take to write and record the album?

Pedro Valença – I believe we made ‘Subversive Need’ in 6 months. I’m always writing riffs and stuff with my bandmates. I would say we are always in pre-productions because of new songs.

13) Where did you record, and who was the producer?

Pedro Valença – Me and Guilherme Silva (guitarist and vocalist) produced this album. We recorded at Demise Studio and Home 64, home studios of Guilherme and Marcelo Santa Fé (bassist), respectively.

14) I like the artwork a lot. Who did it, and how did you get in contact with the artist?

Pedro Valença – The artist called Durval Tavares (Deafbird Design Lab). He is an old friend and a fantastic designer. He works with game development and coming soon he is gonna work more with artwork for heavy metal bands.

15) Are there plans for a vinyl version as well, or just the CD?

Pedro Valença – Just CDs because we still are an independent and underground band. We have now a great support from the two Dutch Labels but we need to play in Europe to get the attention of more partners and, who knows, also a vinyl release.

16) Please let us also talk about the bonus tracks of the album. There are two cover versions on it. “Dominios Of Death” by Vulcano makes obvious sense to me, haha! But what about the Manowar cover “Wheels Of Fire” with its high-pitched vocals (which also doesn´t fit lyrically)? What was the idea behind it?

Pedro Valença – Vulcano is a legend of Brazilian Heavy Metal. It’s fair make a homage for the Brazilian’s bands first generation, I guess. ‘Dominios Of Death’ have the angriness that we like so much. About the Manowar cover: we're always trying to make our versions for bands of different styles. On our second album, Rise Of a New Strike, we recorded a version for ‘Nepenthe’ (Sentenced). It’s a fun part of the job. In general, we always attempt to record two cover as bonus track for physical version of an album: one track, like homage. And other to the bands across different subgenres of Heavy Metal. We know that Manowar's lyrics are very bad. We write about the opposite.

17) Do you play live? And have you maybe already supported bigger bands in your country?

Pedro Valença – We played live for the last time one year ago, before the covid-19 crisis. We like to go to shows, whether underground or mainstream band concerts. In past gigs, we were a open act band to Exodus, Brujeria, Belphegor, Obituary, Ratos de Porão.

18) Please let us also talk about the Brazilian Metal scene, okay? Because I´m a hugh fan of hordes like (old) Sepultura, Sarcogago, Vulcano, Holocausto, Mutilator, MX, Cova, Necrofago and also some younger hordes like Envoke. What about the Metal scene in Brazil today? Do bands support each other? And which other bands from your country can you recommend?

Pedro Valença – The scene in Brazil is keeping strong in big urban centers like São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza. In small cities in Brazil some scenes are disappearing, unfortunately. The major part of Brazilians headbangers do not support the local bands. Lots of bands prefer to play in Europe or promote their albums because these headbangers support Brazilian bands. It’s a sad reality. I recommend bands like Kamala, Elizabethan Walpurga, Crashkill, Malefactor, Hibria, Inner Demons Rise, Aporya, Invisible Control, Mofo, Rebaelliun…

19) Please tell us about the future plans with Pandemmy!

Pedro Valença – Until the vaccination here in Brazil happens (I don't see it coming so soon, sadly) we will not play in concerts. However, we have been working in new songs for the next album yet. I hope that in 2022 we’re gonna release a new album.

20) Okay, Pedro! The last words are yours!

Pedro Valença – Thanks Daniel and everyone from Crossfire Metal Webzine! Thanks to Bigbadwolfrecords for making this review possible! Drop the pages above a like and show your support.

Let me get this out of the way first: i was not expecting this record to be this satisfyingly good and i'm not saying this because of the record label, no, this is really good! Thrashy Death Metal that'll get you moving! I would love to see this band live because i'm sure they put up a badass show that lots of Metal lovers would enjoy.

The vocals on the record are the old school Death Metal approach but still having the low/mid/high range to them. Fits good with the music if i say so myself! It's nice and raw. It's nothing special but it gets the job done!

The instrumentals is where the fun really begins! Thrashy riffage and solos covered in a slimey Death Metal goo that's being accompanied by blasting drums, a great bass and even some synths (or really sick guitarplay) if i hear that correctly. Yes, the music has its Melodic parts and i welcome those with open arms. The songwriting is solid on this record and keeps it really interesting.

The mix/mastering feels a bit more in the lo-fi side of the spectrum. Ofcourse, it's Extreme Metal but some instruments and certain parts could've had more punch to them. Despite that, it's still a solid sound they were going for! I really dig it!

By Evert Nip.

Link: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=256106852751915&set=a.188216142874320

Listen Subversive Need on links bellow:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0giXP7sUDUnw2S0xux6gYB

Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/al/album/134058262

iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/pandemmy/1246514297

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys4zewkLZZE
Pandemmy Official Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12476493020186891848noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6735975629095482182.post-364359120420610232021-02-14T14:43:00.002-08:002021-02-23T10:53:06.091-08:00Review of 'Subversive Need' by Crossfire Metal Webzine!
Pandemmy are a Death-/Thrash Metal horde hailing from Brazil. They were founded in 2009 and have released a demo, two EP´s, a split-CD with Abscendent from Italy and three regular albums to date. Like nearly all Brazilian metal bands I know, also Pandemmy play very brutal and intensive stuff here. There are nine regular tracks included here that are fast, brutal and heavy as fuck. After that, there are two cover songs as bonus tracks: “Wheels Of Fire” by Manowar (surprising and not really fitting with those strange high-pitched vocals, compared to the style of the band) and “Dominios Or Death” by Brazilian cult horde Vulcano´s debut album “Bloody Vengeance” from 1986 (not surprising and really authentic, haha!). The playing of the guys is tight as hell, and the album has a fat and powerful production. If you like traditional Death-/Thrash Metal and Brazilian noise in general, you should immediately get this one!

By Daniel Muller.

Links: https://www.headbangerszineandgigs.nl/e-hbzine/album/608177_pandemmy or http://www.crossfire-metal.de/23025-0-PANDEMMY-SUBVERSIVE-NEED.html

Listen Subversive Need on links bellow:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0giXP7sUDUnw2S0xux6gYB

Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/al/album/134058262

iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/pandemmy/1246514297

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys4zewkLZZE

Pandemmy Official Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12476493020186891848noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6735975629095482182.post-76479305071672409822021-01-28T10:42:00.000-08:002021-01-28T10:42:01.583-08:00Review of 'Subversive Need' by Headbangers Zine!
Pandemmy is a Death Thrash metal band from brazil formed in the year 2009. In 2020 they released there 3rd Album. This album is a nicely mixed of Thrash/Death Metal with brutal vocals, raging drums and guitar riffs. I would say this is some good dope for my ears. I highly recommend this album especially if you like bands such as: Kreator, Carcass, Death etc. This album is one of my favourites albums from the year 2020. just being a member of a band or a reviewer in any magazine, as if they
are all independent and not connected. No, we are all working in
synchronism to make a huge machine (music) reach around the globe. The
best part of this machine is the many incredible bands I have met so
far. Not only that, but also all the friends that I made after one
review. Here it was the same. My friend Raphael Olmos from Kamala
introduced me to Pedro Valença (guitars) and I discovered one more good
and professional band. Once again, the good music has connected people
from different places and I was lucky to receive this incredible work to
review, so let us start our journey about the Brazilian Death/Thrash
Metal band Pandemmy.

The band has a good maturity after several releases over the last
decade. On a first audition, you will be sure of good Death Metal played
brutally, but after listening carefully; you will realize that their
music contains more than just one genre. It is a perfect match of Death
Metal and Thrash Metal. Maybe in its essence, Death Metal comes first,
but the versatility and all the tempo changes throughout are amazing.
Overall, we have a dark atmosphere, sometimes even a small Black or Doom
influence, which is a good soundtrack of the albums subject. The lyrics
are about human beings lack of morality that we all have to face in our
daily lives. Pandemmy decided to be a bit more specific and stick the
finger in the scars that are old problems in Brazil and other new issues
that we are suffering in this country.

Straight away, the first song shows it. ‘Deforestation’ is perfect
Death Metal with a strong and doomy cadence, showing the power of the
guitar work on riffs with a dramatic atmosphere and the sound of a
burning forest. It is inspired by an old problem of the Amazônia forest
devastation in Brazil. We have been facing this problem for decades, but
just this year it was brought to worldwide attention. ‘Webchaos’ is
about the war of information that occurs on the internet, mainly when a
nation suffers with distorted information by the news, sometimes just to
create panic or to hide a more critical problem. ‘Neo Hate’ and
‘Xenophobia’ go the same way. Each track has an important message about
and against all the chaos we live in.

Musically, there is a strong work on intense atmosphere. Pandemmy
bring a sad vibe with the reality they mention, but they also bring a
kind of hope with certain melodies. Melodies that come after all the
destruction are uplifting and make you feel strong to stand up and
fight. Brazilians will probably feel and understand better what the band
exposes with small details, such as the short Maracatu percussion
section (local music typical of the northeast, where the band live) at
the end of ‘Xenophobia’. Why? Because people from the northeast suffer
with a kind of Xenophobia inside Brazil. Moreover, this short percussion
sounds like the last breath of hope for a people who have been
struggling with poverty for so long, and who now despair after being
forgotten by politics.

I love how Pandemmy mix many genres in their music. There is the
amazing guitar work of Guilherme Silva and Pedro Valença. Good riffs and
the solos are very catchy, not so exacerbated in speed or
aggressiveness, but can hear a good balance of melody and heaviness.
Marcelo Santa Fé has the hard job to follow them and his bass is not
hidden. The drums of Vitor Alves are the soul of everything. What a
killer and unrelenting work. He uses cadences that come from dancing
percussion through to furious blast beats. In addition, the Thrash Metal
beats are all incredible. You won’t get tired of this album mainly
because of the creativity of different tempos used.

This album is not a conceptual album like a history divided into
chapters, but it could easily be considered one. It sounds like a
paradox to what I have just said, but if you stop to analyze the world
we are living in today, you can see that it is pure chaos, but with
hidden traps to slaughter you slowly. New and different traps that we’ve
been facing for a long time. Considering the way that Pandemmy expose
everything could be seen as chapters of this book of hate.

“Subversive Need” has many important chapters, with a killer
soundtrack behind, to bring consciousness to all people who live in
society. It is rich musically and lyrically and you don’t need to put
the chapters in a correct or particular order. If you hear any song, no
matter the sequence, you will feel what Pandemmy is showing you through
their music. Is it a complex album? Absolutely! However, it is also very
easy to digest and to enjoy. Amazing work!

By Victor Hugo

Link: https://ever-metal.com/2021/01/08/pandemmy-subversive-need/

Listen Subversive Need on links bellow:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0giXP7sUDUnw2S0xux6gYB

Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/al/album/134058262

iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/pandemmy/1246514297

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys4zewkLZZE

Com um dedilhado característico do thrash, “I Choose my Blood” é a mais acessível, com power-chords e letras inteligíveis – o refrão, “I choose my blood, They gave me their hands, My roots are burned, Bleeding what I feel”, caberia em algum single do Amon Amarth.

Link: https://acessomusic.com.br/2020/10/06/resenha-pandemmy-subversive-need/

Ouça Subversive Need nos links abaixo:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0giXP7sUDUnw2S0xux6gYB

Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/al/album/134058262

iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/pandemmy/1246514297

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys4zewkLZZE

Pandemmy Official Bloghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12476493020186891848noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6735975629095482182.post-308232989899264672020-09-27T20:00:00.003-07:002020-09-27T20:00:56.992-07:00Resenha de 'Subversive Need' no site World Of Metal Mag

Link: https://worldofmetalmag.com/wom-reviews-the-troops-of-doom-reverber-heathen-hellixxir-possession-sanity-control-ravened-pandemmy/

Ouça Subversive Need nos links abaixo:

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0giXP7sUDUnw2S0xux6gYB

Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/al/album/134058262

iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/pandemmy/1246514297

Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys4zewkLZZE

Produced by the band’s own vocalist and guitarist Guilherme Silva and guitarist Pedro Valença, and featuring a classic artwork by Deafbird Design Lab, Subversive Need showcases an evolution in the sound of Pandemmy since their inception in 2009, offering the listener the same level of violence and heaviness while exhibiting a much more polished and professional overall production when compared to the previous efforts by Guilherme and Pedro together with their bandmates Marcelo Santa Fé on bass and Vitor Alves on drums, therefore positioning Pandemmy as one of the most promising names of the Brazilian Northeastern metal scene.

Raw and putrid from the very first second, the opening track Deforestation is an old school Death Metal tune led by the deep guttural roars by Guilherme, while Vitor alternates between doomed and visceral beats, setting the stage for the vicious Neohate and its in-your-face lyrics (“New legions ignore words of insanity / Blind hordes of prejudice and hypocrisy / Christians are enemies of their own god / Rotten rich and stupid elite who hates the poor / Your vote repeats the past / Your choice are lies that hurt / Neohate, old hate! / Generations alienate / Neohate, old hate! / We will fight, you shall fall”) while the band delivers sheer violence from their sonic weapons, with Guilherme and Pedro being on fire with their dirty Thrash Metal riffage. And they keep smashing our heads with their old school sonority in Free Mumia (A Panther In The Cage), where Guilherme, Pedro and guest Danilo Coimbra bring forth berserk riffs and solos while Vitor doesn’t stop crushing his drums in a solid fusion of Death and Thrash Metal.

Then eerie guitars are boosted by the rumbling bass by Marcelo in the heavy-as-hell Webchaos, a great option for slamming into the circle pit while the band generates a menacing atmosphere, also featuring the gruesome roars by guest Lohy Fabiano, whereas investing in a more frantic, thrashing sound the quartet pulverizes our ears in Xenophobia, showcasing an excellent job done by both guitarists while at the same time reminding me of some of the creations by bands like Slayer, Testament and Exodus. After such demented song, a somber intro morphs into the melodic, mid-tempo I Choose My Blood, where the guitars by Guilherme and Pedro sound truly lancinating, always supported by Marcelo and his menacing bass punches, and getting closer to the Melodic Death Metal played by Arch Enemy but with the band’s own Brazilian twist.

Terror Paranoia offers our avid ears another blast of their straightforward Death and Thrash Metal, with Vitor taking the lead with his vicious beats while Guilherme’s deep roars are nicely supported by his bandmates’ classic backing vocals. On the other hand, I’m not sure what their intention was in The Illusion Of Suffering, as they undoubtedly failed in their experiment to mix harsh vocals with acoustic passages, sounding like a big mess in the end despite the fact their guitar lines are quite decent. Fortunately for all of us, Pandemmy get back to their boisterous mode in Charlottesville, bringing forward a demented sonority showcasing venomous growls, slashing riffs and pounding beats, clearly inspired by the horrible neo-Nazi movement that sadly put the city in the worldwide map of racism, with a final sinister and progressive jamming putting an end to such meaningful composition.

You can enjoy this feast of Thrash and Death Metal made in Brazil in its entirety on YouTube and on Spotify, but of course in order to show your true support to the underground scene you can purchase Subversive Need from Pandemmy’s own BandCamp page, from Apple Music or from Amazon, and also follow the band on Facebook, on Instagram and on YouTube. Guilherme, Pedro, Marcelo and Vitor still have a long road ahead of them to reach stardom in the world of heavy music, but we must admit they’re working hard and developing their own sound with each one of their releases, with Subversive Need giving us all a very good idea of what to expect from those Brazilian metallers from now on.

Link: https://theheadbangingmoose.wordpress.com/2020/08/12/album-review-pandemmy-subversive-need-2020/

By Gustavo Scuderi.

<i style="font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Listen <b style="font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-style: italic;">Subversive Need<i style="font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> on links bellow:
<i style="font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/0giXP7sUDUnw2S0xux6gYB
<i style="font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Deezer: https://www.deezer.com/al/album/134058262
<i style="font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">iTunes: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/pandemmy/1246514297
<i style="font-family: "helvetica neue", arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys4zewkLZZE

PEDRO VALENÇA: Sin duda: Death, Sepultura, Carcass y Kreator.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">Hi everyone! Welcome to our new EMQ’s interview with Recife, Brazil based Death/Thrash/Heavy Metal band Pandemmy. Huge thanks to lead guitarist Pedro Valença for taking part.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">What is your name, what do you play, and can you tell us a little bit about the history of the band?

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">Hello, bangers! I’m Pedro Valença, guitarist and founding member of Pandemmy. I’ve been playing guitar since 2005 because I love to play riffs and I love the sound of distortion. I created this group after I left from my first band, called Monstera. I wanted to play not only thrash metal, but also a mix between Thrash and Death Metal. So, in 2009 Pandemmy was born.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">How did you come up with your band name?

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">The name Pandemmy is associated with the concept of the music being spread in a pandemic way. This idea rose in 2009, but we don’t like anything about epidemics or pandemics! The style of the band transits between Death Metal and Thrash Metal, common characteristic of many Brazilian bands that appeared in years 2000.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">What Country/Region are you from and what is the Metal/Rock scene like there?

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">I’m from the Northeast of Brazil, a hot and poor region compared to the South and Southeast part of Brazil. The scene here is very rich in terms of bands, but the public is lower than other states as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais. There are many extreme Heavy Metal bands from Brazilian states in Northeast.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">We released our third album, called “Subversive Need”, on March 6th . We have three albums, two EP’s, one split album, one single and one demo. <span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">Calling in the name of the band, we have been common influences like Carcass, Kreator, Death and Sepultura. Particularly, I love a lot of bands in several subgenres of Heavy Metal.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">I enjoyed it when I was a child. But in my teenage years, the interest in music exploded when I heard Iron Maiden for the first time. It was my passport for the music.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">If I had to choose one musician, it would be Max Cavalera. We like to collaborate with bands from the underground scene too. We trade information about musical production, producers, social media, etc.

<span face=""helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif" style="font-family: helvetica;">It’s a hard question because the European summer festivals are like a dream to any heavy metal band.

After Rebellions, lançado no ano passado e disponível no YouTube.

<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Posso recomendar algumas bandas da cena nordestina: Crashkill, Inner Demons Rise, Torment The Skies, Elizabethan Walpurga, Flamenhell, United For Distortion, Aphorism, Vermiis.

Once more it is always great to have the pleasure and the honor to review a band again. Here the honor is Pandemmy with “Subversive Need.” Metal Addicts has reviewed two efforts of the band which are 2017’s “Rise of a New Strike” and 2019’s split album “Obliteration.” Both killing machines, if you ask me.

“Subversive Need” is the new effort we have just received and Pandemmy prepared lots of changes in its sonance. If in “Rise of a New Strike” the band showed some Melodeath features, now they are wide open. However, the album bounces wisely through some Punk and Raw Death Metal influences as well. At first, the fan used to Pandemmy’s music feels the thrill with the pungent “Deforestation” with its funeral and cavernous vocals – not the usual for the band portfolio. In a way, the track causes a shock to the fan. It is so unexpected. Well, the album goes all this way. Behold fan! “Neohate” speeds up a little maintaining the cavernous vocals with a more Death Metal wrapping than the opening track. Its martial drumming gives a awesomeness to the track like preparing to war mood. And war is what you get here. The neat instrumental featuring a strumming acoustic guitar intro bridging to a beautiful guitar solo in “I Choose My Blood” prepares to a track full of Amon Amarth references. From where I’m sitting, it’s the strongst track of the album. The more melodic features give it an out-of-this-world mood plus the cadenced guitar riffing. It’s such a different album which only a bold band as Pandemmy could ever imagined. So says “Charlottesville” with its Metallica-ish drumming intro with those guitar strikings that in a sudden speeds up to a fantastic Death Metal track.

What comforts the fan is that the acid social critique in the lyrics is well-preserved. Also does the solid and neat instrumentals which is a stapler of the band. Pandemmy keep their tradition of criticizing this sad and lonely and pathetic world we live on. The acoustic “The Illusion of Suffering” says so with its shrieking and debauched vocals as choir of demons. “Subversive Need” is bold and subversive to the bone.

CONFIRAM!

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">O Pandemmy segue firme e forte, os nossos tímpanos agradecem.
